Breathe and Flow
July 05, 2023

Hey there, welcome to a brand new day on this beautiful planet. We hope this letter finds you well, feeling energized and inspired. Welcome to the 280 new subscribers that joined since the last newsletter!
Here at the BnF HQ, we’re settling into our routine with several large projects in the works as Flo was gone for a couple months attending school in Maine. Two weeks ago, he graduated from the super intensive 650 hour Anatomy Trains Structural Integration school with the legendary Tom Myers. Flo’s excited to dive deeper into bodywork and help even more people feel better in their bodies. He’ll be offering in-person sessions here in Vegas later this summer. If you’re in the area and interested in learning more, you can check out his SI website. Other than that, we’re gearing up for a hot desert summer in Vegas and adding more playtime in the water along with our usual nature explorations.
Sending out a BIG thank you to everyone who filled out our survey about what you want to see in our newsletter. We really appreciate the feedback and are using it to compile lots of juicy content in the coming months! As we continue to grow our international yoga community, we are always looking for ways to help you on your journey.
Last week we gave two lucky readers a free pair of Vivobarefoot shoes (congrats and enjoy, friends!) and this week we are giving away $100 to spend in our online shop! Read to the end of today’s newsletter to find out more…
One of the most powerful tools we have found for starting the day off right is a good morning routine. A morning routine can set the tone for your entire day, helping you feel focused, centered, and ready to take on whatever comes your way. With Ailo joining our morning routine, he’s there by our side as we incorporate healthy habits into each morning. He even joins us while we practice yoga, as well as meditation (you’re never too young to start!) Of course, everything takes longer but that’s also part of the experience of having a baby so we are cherishing every moment. Morning routines can be a family affair depending on your situation.
So, here are some things we do every day to start the day with love and good vibes!
Be an early riser and start the day with a bang! Check out the daily rituals in our Morning Routine video; from our early morning starts, to our yoga asana practice, studying, meditating, and more. Starting the day with intention and purpose can help you cultivate a sense of calm and clarity that will carry you through even the busiest of days. However it is so important to dedicate the first hour or two to yourself. No phone, no email inbox, and no sense that someone is governing your time ‘on the clock.’
We can spend so much time working for others throughout our day, so dedicating time to yourself first thing is a HUGE win! Making time for your creative outlets or passions early on in the day can be so invigorating and fills your own cup so that you have more love and energy to pour into others’ cups. If you’re looking for inspirational books to dive into for your morning reads, check out our recommended book list in our kits.
We also know that everyone's morning routine will be different, and that's okay. Everyone lives a unique life with unique circumstances so regardless of what time you wake up to get going, the key is to find what works for you and to consistently stick with it. Whether it's a quick yoga flow, a few moments of quiet meditation, adding some interesting detours to your morning commute (scroll down for inspo!) or simply savoring a cup of coffee or tea, taking the time to prioritize your well-being in the morning can make a big difference in how you feel throughout the day.
Remember, the most important thing is to take care of yourself, both physically and mentally and these two elements are part of your whole self; equally important and relying upon one another to thrive.
If you’re serious about building your morning routine, then we also encourage you to practice one of our 30-day Ritual yoga calendars strategically structured to build you up throughout the month with daily classes that will help you stay consistent. Also a good book on the topic of building habits that stick is Atomic Habits by James Clear.
Make your mornings count and see how different you feel after just a week of setting yourself up for success. Drop a comment in our Morning Routine video and let us know how the new routine goes! Later this month, we’ll be filming our current Morning Routine with baby Ailo keep your eyes peeled for that later this summer.
You can also join the conversation on our Breathe and Flow Discord channel and chat with other members of our awesome community (many of whom are already in the 5am club and have plenty of tips!)
That’s all we have in the news, no hitting the snooooooze.
With support,

Just find the feeling, pass it on
Following an online map from A to B is a super efficient way to find your way to your destination. Especially if walking is part of your commute to work, you probably arrive at the office without actually paying much attention to how you got there! But, what if rather than focus on speed, you took a moment to walk a slightly longer but more beautiful or interesting route? We think Daniele Quercia’s “happy maps” are a great idea because they take into account not only the route you want to take, but how you want to feel along the way. Happy Maps can mean happier journeys and the opportunity for many more mindful moments.
Morning Coffee Positive Planet News
We loved reading about these companies who are working towards making cycling better for the planet! Moving from cars and planes to feet and people-powered wheels is a great way to reduce your own carbon footprint.
Firstly, they produce zero tailpipe emissions which reduces air pollution. Secondly, they have a significantly smaller carbon footprint compared to cars and planes since they consume less energy and can be charged using renewable sources.
Additionally, both conventional and electric bikes alleviate traffic congestion, promote active transportation, contribute to a healthier and more sustainable urban environment AND it’s good for you. Phew.
We love our electric bikes from Aventon and use them to explore beautiful places like Red Rock Canyon here in Las Vegas. Aventon is even offering a 4th of July special for up to $400 off select bikes - check ‘em out!
Otherwise, if you’re looking to upgrade the bike you already have, the company Swytchbike is offering a service where they change your conventional non-electric bike into an electric model. How cool is that?!
